Valentine's Heart
In the margins of notes, you often find small doodles; robots, stars, dogs, etc. However, the most popular that I've seen, at least with respect to girls, is the stylized valentine’s heart. A little while ago I read about one of the theories of the origin of the shape, which was accompanied with a similar picture in black and white. It said that the symbol actually does represent the anatomical heart. However, it is not single. It represents two hearts that mirror each other, much like the way soul mates mirror and complement each other. A single heart represents a single piece in this simple two piece puzzle. The challenge to this puzzle, is finding your other piece. I found this very beautiful and poetic and thus felt the urge to create this painting.
