Otters
Otters are carefree,
Full of innocence
And whimsy.
I am shy,
Wary of chances
And love.
More than anything,
I wish I could be with the otters,
Replacing my anxieties and doubts
With unhindered freedom and bliss.
Perhaps I am stronger than the otters.
Maybe the otters have been in my shoes before.
In a past life
In a long-forgotten era.
Maybe that is why I am here
And they are there on the riverside.
Maybe,
I am saving them from a fate far worse than my own
And I have taken their place,
Saving their gentler souls from being crushed by a world
That has no time or place for innocence.
