Monopoly Of The Heart
It all started out nice.
You treated me like I was the last person you would ever meet.
I would've done anything for you.
“Do you want to play a game?”
Of course I would as long as it was you.
We chose our pieces and began.
Then things started to change,
You wouldn't return my messages or answer my calls.
You left me standing here in a tornado of confusion.
I just don’t get it,
You said I was different and that you actually cared,
So what happened here?
It’s like as soon as I could start to call you mine,
You didn't want me to be yours.
I should have said no to your games,
I should have known it was all a ploy.
But now I’m stuck here owning Baltic and Oriental Avenue.
I can’t even put up hotels as a method to bring back some of the things you took from me.
Here’s your $200 dollars for passing go right into my heart.
I tried to make you land on go directly to jail,
But you were too good.
You own Boardwalk and Park Place and of course I had to land on them.
I just wanted to be close again.
You took my heart and feelings as money,
And you left me here without anything.
All because you had to win,
And you always won.
Now I can’t let anyone in,
“Why don’t you want to play?”
“It’s just a silly game!”
I can never look at it the same,
Not since we played,
And you left me here Bankrupt.
