As cities rise
Out of sweat and tears
Does anybody else stop to wonder
What is the price?

We refuse to wait.
Those left behind
Have no chance

And if I closed my eyes
Maybe the world
Would do away with me, too

Don't fight the progress
Let it infringe upon your sacred morals
Let it infect your curios mind
Question your human worth

But when the world goes to ruin
And your golden cities fall
When all that's left
Are your empty possessions
Do you have anything at all?

This piece was inspired by a haiku I wrote a while ago. That haiku was based on a picture I saw of crisscrossed steal beams. It describes how I feel about the worlds loss of true simplicity and morals.
