Locked In Madness
I tread through lukewarm waters
The quiet swarms around me like a hive of bees
Stinging at every move, leaving blisters no one soothes
The soft waves crash ashore where my body floats
It hits the rocks, floating for so long it forgot to walk
The rocks knock on my reality
The threat of treading alone makes the sounds louder
The crows cries tightens a lace around my heart
Losing thought as a blanket of security pulls tighter
I never wrote on the blank sheet of time
No inspiration, no motivation
I want to float back out into the deep waters
Everything above can be blue
That’s all I see
Everything below I wade farther from
Bring me ashore to the present
Stop me from drowning in the past
There’s no choice but to walk further alone into the unknown
The future calls us all
